…that’s what we did in Junior Infants today. We went to the very beautiful Harold’s Cross park to see the signs of summer around us. Today really was a WALK ON WEDNESDAY!
We used our entire walk there and back looking at maths in our environment . We found a wide gate (suitable for Ellie. Room 3 know her!), a narrow gate just us human beings, a very tall and wide tree and a short tree. There were numbers and shapes and patterns everywhere. Too many to list!
Today we went to the halla and did an obstacle course. It was so much fun.
There was a class raffle to win a family pass for Swan Leisure. Winners enjoy!
And the last Drop Everything and Dance. You should try this one at home. It’s a great chance to show off your dance moves.

Today we all enjoyed a session in Swan Leisure. Unfortunately,there was no time to snap a few photographs as we were too busy. We played hockey and dodge ball, ran some races and used a giant parachute (don’t worry – all feet were kept firmly on the ground!).
In yard, the children are still recording their progress from earlier in the week.
Tomorrow’s fun includes an obstacle course…stay tuned!
Today was martial arts. Lucie’s mum came to teach us tae kwan do. We learned some important rules like you only practice tae kwan do as a sport. We practiced a punch and a kick move. Take a look and see.
After the lesson the entire school went to the yard to do a Mexican wave.
It’s so much fun being active!
It was a dance-tastic day today. Our teacher Brian taught us to move and groove and Mrs. Tangney made sure we kept the beat when she got us to “Drop everything and dance” later in the day. More fun tomorrow.
Active Week is finally here!
The boys and girls arrived in school this morning in their tracksuits ready for some fun.
We started the day with a yoga lesson given by a lovely teacher called Ann. We took our shoes and socks off and did lots of interesting poses on our mats.
After that there were some activities at yard time.The junior infants did jumping jacks while senior infants and first class skipped. Each activity is recorded so we can see how we improve over the coming week.
Wear your tracksuits again tomorrow (and ever day this week). It’s time to DANCE!
