Happy Easter

We celebrated Easter today with an Easter egg hunt and  a special assembly. Ms. Mulkerrin reminded us of the importance of Easter, the drama class told the story of Easter and the Easter Bunny made a special appearance. Music filled the halla and we all had a lovely time.

Enjoy the midterm!

Céilí Mór

We celebrated St. Patrick’s day in the halla with a very special assembly. St. Patrick and Molly Malone visited and the recorder group played beautiful music.

There was also a special appearance by the world renowned Miss. Flatley Sheils dance troop. They debuted their latest dance “The Warrior Dance”. It was a huge success.

It’s raining, it’s pouring

Room 3 are definitely not snoring!

We been learning about water. How does the water get from the sea to the clouds? “Well, the sea get warm and the water floats up” said one clever girl. We then figured out that the water that floats up make clouds which cool down and make rain. “It’s like a life cycle” said a clever boy.

We did an experiment using a bag of water and a hair dryer.

Then we had to figure out how a flower drinks water. After all, we all need water to bloom and grow.

This is what we learned:
The flower “slurps” the water through its stem. Look at it drinking the dyed water here:

The stem is like a straw.

The water and the sun help the flower to bloom and grow.

It was great to have the daffodils in the classroom. They reminded us that spring is on it’s way.

Food Dudes

We started Food Dudes last Friday. Each day we get the chance to taste some fruit and vegetables while watching a really cool Food Dude cartoon. There is also a chance to win a lovely prize.

St. Louis children have no trouble trying new foods. They are a clever lot who know what is healthy and tasty. So far we’ve had grapes, carrots, bananas, cucumbers, peppers and oranges. Yum, yum, yum. The children have also made a huge effort bringing tasty fruit and veggies from home in their lunchboxes.

Well done everyone!
