Active Week – A special day

Today we celebrated earning our Active flag and third Green flag with a special assembly.

Our special guest was Ken Doherty. He was very impressed that we are such a fit, active and green school. He told us that when he started to play snooker he had to stand on a biscuit tin as he was too short to reach the table. He also told the children that his mum has put his trophies in the attic as he had too many to dust!

We have lots more active fun to come this week. Stay tuned!

Active Week – Day 1

The rain did not hinder our plans for day 1 of Active Week. The day started off when we all took part in parachute games. We had great fun.

During the day Ms. Mulkerrin played some music over the intercom. It took us all by surprise. We downed pencils and copybooks and took to our feet and danced to the beat of Operation Transformation.

Tomorrow is a very important day in St. Louis Infant School. Thanks to the hard work and participation of all the children and staff, the school has earned an Active flag and Green flag. We’re having an assembly to celebrate and the Irish Champion snooker player  Ken Doherty will be helping us to raise the flags. Stay tuned for an update.

Playing shop

Junior Infants have looked at and learned all about the 1c, 2c and 5c coins in recent weeks. We have set up a shop in room 3 complete with cash registers, shopping baskets, things to buy and of course lots of money. They boys and girls are becoming very good at  paying for what they want using the correct coins. They will be a great help to mums and dads when paying for the shopping!

Look who came to visit our school

The Garda Mounted Unit. Finn and Oscar (the horses) and the gardaí came to St> Louis Infant School. We got to ask lots of questions. We petted the horses and brought them some apples as a treat. It was so much fun. Thank you for visiting us.

Junior Infants visit Belgrave Square

Junior infants walked to Belgrave Square today. We searched for signs that summer is on the way. We found lovely pink flowers, trees, leaves, buds and most importantly of all we saw the sun shining. Summer is on the way!
